Not All That You See

Not all that you see so vividly are memories.
Some are simply dreams of futures
not yet come to be.
The more you pay attention,
the more you see,
that these are future memories
of me
and some things
we've yet to see
but know are somehow true
even if they've been successful
in getting these lies past you.
There is a greater power
that will balance it all in the end.
In the end,
you'll make a decision,
my friend.
In the end,
you should decide
to be a friend
because you'll need a friend
sometimes before your end,
my friend,
and friends don't lie
or deceive
their friends.
Friends are chosen family,
and want what's best,
and the truth always works best in my eyes.
Don't lie to protect me;
tell us everything you know.
I have nothing to hide,
and plenty of room to grow.
Not all I say are thoughts I've thought.
Some are mine, and some are not.
