Get Missin’
Synopsis: When the powers that be don’t agree with your life, a quick getaway might be anything but a date night.
Definitely don’t care
who knows when and where we’ll be there.
She makes me the happiest I’ve ever been.
So, I’m taking her somewhere exciting neither of us have ever seen.
Never felt so free.
Bike’s speedometer hit 123.
She wraps her arms ‘round me with a squeeze.
I feel our electricity between her knees.
Now seeing the forest and the trees.
She’s clearly the perfect match for me.
We hit the lake.
My heart is thumpin’.
It’s gettin late.
We’re wearin’ nothin’.
She grabs my hand before we jump in,
“Babe, I gotta tell you somethin..
This could well be the time you see me last.”
All that elation threatens to crash.
“What do you mean?
And be explicit please.”
No bushes are beat.
Our eyes stumble to meet.
“Cuz you and I were never meant to be,
they’re coming for me
I’ve been advised to flee.”
Instantly, I’m on my feet.
“Then you’re fleeing with me.”
She takes my hand,
and we get missin’ as fast as we can.
Nearly not fast enough
Cuz they’re right behind us..
“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
“I didn’t want to scare you or
ruin the time we had left.”
“No, no.
Don’t talk like that.
You’re not gettin’ rid of me yet.
I’m gonna get the both of us out of here.
We’ll find a place they’ll never look,
and live our lives as in a story book.
Ok.. this might sound insane,
but why don’t we just hop a plane?
And take it wherever it lands.
Maybe a beach with jet black sands.
To hell with their plans for you.
They hold no appeal.
Their opinions are useless.
I say we do this.
Hurry, here they come
What’s the deal?
You down?”
“Hell yea,” she says.
“Our time is now!”
We barely escape death somehow,
and end up on a high that never lets down.
